Mostly all hotels in India after Covid-19 are Couple Friendly Hotels accepting Local ID Proof. The same has become a big Industry and all the Hotels are cashing on the same. Couple Friendly Hotels came into prominence with Startups like OyoRooms, StayUncle & LuvStay promoting them in the initial days however same has become the biggest market for Hotels in cities and tourist attraction post COVID-19.
Corporate Travel has seen a decline of 90% post covid with Companies not promoting travel amidst the restrictions and thus the Hospitality Industry has been completely been wiped out in the recent year. Thus most of the Hotels have focussed on the Couple Industry with offering them low rates.
Pricing is off utmost importance for the Couple Industry as most of the bookings are made last minute so travelers are constantly looking for lower rates. Hotel chains like Raddison have reduced there prices by more then 50?cross all locations in India and others have followed the path.
PK Group of Hotels & Apartments, A group of Hotels primarily with their Hoels in the National Capital Region had 90% corporate customer prior to COVID19. However the pandemic has reduced there corporate customer share to 10% post the pandemic and thus like other Hotelier there are also looking at other markets like Weddings, Destination weddings, Couple Friendly Hotels to increase there Occupancy levels.
Occupancy levels have seen an increase with focussing on other markers however Average Room Rent & Total Revenues have been badly hit because corporate rates were much higher then what they are selling at these days. But this in one of the affects of the so called New Normal in the Hospitality Industries. With huge Capex costs involved in starting a Hotels, and other huge costs associated to running a Hotel, margins have reduced considerable for a Hotel but there is no other way of surviving these effects of a pandemic.
The government of India hasnt offered any substantial incentive to the Hospitality Industry which employees the highest number of people in this country after Agriculture so the future of Hotels is very grim but the only way of running is surviving in these tough times.
Hopefully the pandemic goes away in 2021, so the market starts to come back in 2022 with full term recovery by 2022.
